What Optimyze is

Optimyze is a browser extension that adds download tools to Wyze Web View (my.wyze.com/events). It saves your camera events as MP4 files, offers bulk downloads, adds playback controls to the event player, and related conveniences. It is an independent project and is not affiliated with Wyze Labs, Inc.

Data we do not collect

Optimyze does not collect, store on our behalf, or transmit to us any personal information. Specifically, Optimyze:

• has no servers and sends nothing to any Optimyze-operated service;
• does not collect your name, email address, payment details, or Wyze credentials;
• does not include analytics, telemetry, advertising, or tracking of any kind;
• does not create user profiles and does not sell or share data — there is no data to sell or share;
• never reads or stores your Wyze password or full account session.

Data stored on your device

Optimyze keeps a small amount of data locally using your browser's extension storage:

• Settings (filename format, button position, player preferences, and so on). These are stored in the browser's synced extension storage where available, with a local fallback. If you are signed in to your browser account, your browser vendor may sync these settings across your devices under the browser vendor's own privacy policy; Optimyze never sees them.
• Download history — a list of which events you have already downloaded, so a green “Downloaded” badge can be shown. It is stored only in your browser's local extension storage, is capped at 5,000 entries, and can be erased at any time with the “Forget download history” button in the extension's options.

Uninstalling the extension removes all of this data.

Requests to Wyze and Amazon

Optimyze works with your existing, already-signed-in Wyze session. When you choose to download an event, the extension requests that event's video and audio directly from Wyze's download endpoints (Wyze hosts and Amazon Kinesis Video Streams), the same requests your browser already makes when you play an event. Your Wyze session token, included in those request URLs, is sent only to Wyze and Amazon as part of that download — it is never sent anywhere else.

Optimyze has no visibility into and no control over how Wyze Labs, Inc. or Amazon Web Services handle data on their own services; those interactions are covered by Wyze's and Amazon's privacy policies.

When you contact us

This is the one place where you can hand us information: the support form on this website. If you fill it in, we receive the name, email address, topic and message you submit. It is delivered to our support inbox (support@optimyze.dev) through our email provider and used solely to read and answer your message.

• We don’t add you to any mailing list or share what you sent.
• Using the form is entirely optional — plain email works just as well.
• Ask us to delete your message and we will.

The Optimyze extension itself never sends messages anywhere.

Permissions

• Storage — used only for the settings and download history described above.
• Access to wyze.com pages — the extension's interface (download buttons, bulk-selection checkboxes, player controls) runs on Wyze Web View pages. It does not run on, read, or modify any other website.

Local media processing

Downloaded events are assembled into MP4 files entirely on your device. Where a camera's audio needs converting to AAC, the conversion is done by your browser's built-in media encoder. No audio or video is uploaded anywhere by Optimyze.

Children's privacy

Optimyze does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under 13, because it does not collect data at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the extension's store listing.
